As a result of the 2010 census, school districts, community colleges, and AEA boards had to analyze whether they need to redraw their boundaries.
Those school districts with director districts must determine boundaries that meet the standards set in Iowa Code 275.23A. Basically, Director Districts should:
- follow precinct boundaries,
- not divide a city that is smaller than the ideal director district size,
- be composed of contiguous territory, and
- be roughly equal in population.
