In the Waterloo Schools, we have high expectations for all students. The expectations for all teachers are very high also. At times, the multitude of initiatives designed to raise student achievement can be confusing or even overwhelming to deal with.
This booklet will help to bring our research‐based initiatives into clearer focus and to show how they each fit within the big picture. We have listened to your concerns and will do what it takes to support you in this challenging effort to raise achievement for all students.
One clear need is clarity and congruence of our work. On the following pages you’ll find “At a Glances,”‐ quick references for the major initiatives in which Waterloo teachers are engaged. We have tried to distill the most important points of each so that you know what is expected of you.
We will continue to engage you in discussions on how we can strengthen our efforts and better focus our resolve. If these are helpful, more “At a Glances” will be coming as they may be needed.
