Mission Statement:

To help increase student achievement by providing healthful, high quality meals and exceptional service to all students, staff, parents/guardians and community members.

Goals:

1.      The district will meet all state and federal requirements necessary for participation in state and federal meal programs.

2.      The food service program will provide wholesome and appetizing school meals to the district students, staff, family and the community.  School meals contribute to good nutrition, which is vital to the mental and physical growth of each child.

3.      To operate on a non-profit basis and will comply with all rules and procedures pertaining to health, sanitation, internal accounting procedures and service of foods.

4.      All school food services receipts must flow through the district chart of accounts and be used only to pay allowable food services costs, in accordance of the law.

5.      Weekly menus meet Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which includes increasing fruit, vegetable and whole grain intake.

6.      To help each school meet the goals for the HealthierUS School Challenge.  HealthierUS School Challenge (HUSSC) was established to recognize schools that are creating healthier school environments through their promotion of good nutrition and physical activity.

7.      To help provide nutrition education for students, staff, parents and community members to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
