A fifth grade class at Kittrell Elementary has published a book of poems on the topic of Character Counts!.  Character Counts!, a pilot program that ten Waterloo schools are currently participating in, promotes positive character traits and responsible citizenship.  The students wrote poems about the six pillars of the program that include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship and then illustrated their poem.  The hardcover, 4-color book was edited and published by Studentreasures® Company in Kansas.  Studentreasures® offers the service free to classrooms, if the class orders copies of the book.  Fourteen of the twenty-five students ordered copies.
