Country Pathfinder

Sixth Grade Social Studies Country Report Research Guide

Step One: Review the research guide your teacher has provided.  What kind of information do you need to gather?  Write some questions that will help focus your research. If you misplace your research guide you can click 5themesrubric2012-2013 for a copy.

Step Two: Start with your text book and other print books and read about your country.  Use your note sheets to answer any questions that you can. Lost your notes sheet? Want to save a copy without retyping? Click researchguide12-13 for a copy. Remember to save to your documents.

Step Three: What are your key words that you will search for?  Start with your country name and then look at your questions.  Use the most important part of your question as a key word, for example culture of Brazil.  Once you have a list, start your search with print or online encyclopedias.  Don’t forget to take notes.
