National Honor Society is collecting donations for the House of Hope for its yearly service project. You can help NHS with this project by donating items such as gently used clothing, toys, disposable diapers, laundry detergent, household goods, towels, pots and pans, and dishes and silverware. Donations may be placed in a box labeled House of Hope in the main office or to room 321. NHS will be collecting donations until May 24th. Thank you for your kindness in helping!
ALL STUDENTS ARE TO USE THE FRONT MAIN ENTERANCE TO THE OFFICE WHEN COMING AND LEAVING THE MAIN OFFICE
Students if you are not feeling well, you first must see a nurse. The nurse will then contact a parent or guardian before you will be able to leave the building. You are NOT to call or text, per cell phone policy. Thank you.
Students, if you drive to school, you must have an East High parking pass hanging from your rear view mirror. Passes cost $20 and are available in the Business Office. For your convenience, East High School provides four parking lots for students. You may park in the large lot east of the Fred Miller Gym, the gravel lot south of the Industrial Tech building, this does not include the Industrial Tech black top, the lot next to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, and the lot next to the soccer practice field. You MAY NOT park in the staff lot across from the Commons doors or Prairie Lake Church's parking lot. Tickets are NOW being issued for no parking passes and parking in the wrong lot. If the matter is not taken care of in a timely manner your vehicle will be towed. Thank you for your compliance

Josh Pickett selected for State Band-
Joshua Pickett-
One of our students accomplished something this past weekend that hasn’t happened at East High since 1997-98. Joshua Pickett was selected to perform at the All State Band. This is the highest honor a high school musician can receive. He was one of four students selected out of 22 that auditioned last Saturday on French horn. He will be going to Ames Thursday, November 15 and performing at the Hilton Collisseum in Ames on Saturday, November 17. Tickets are available to purchase through ticketmaster and an edited version of the concert will be on IPTV on Thanksgiving. Please take a second to congratulate him if you run into him.
Congratulations to the following students for taking first place at the State Culinary Arts Competition hosted by the Iowa Restaurant Association. The event was held in Cedar Rapids. If you have ever watched “Top Chef” the event was very similar to this television show. The students will now be advancing to the National Competition held in Baltimore in April!!
