Mission Statement
“Orange’s Mission Statement is to create and maintain an environment that ensures every member of the school community reaches a high level of academic, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic growth as determined by state and national standards. We commit to a comprehensive system of support to assure this outcome.”
Vision Statement
The vision of Orange Elementary School is: “Engaged learners are surrounded by caring, friendly and knowledgeable adults who are devoted to providing for the needs of each student. The curriculum is well articulated and technology is infused within. Parents take an active role in their child’s education by providing basic needs so their child is ready to learn. Character Counts traits and good work ethics are taught at home and school. Parents and school staff work together respectfully and cooperatively in school and community, with the vision of helping students be responsible and productive members of our society.”
Principal’s Message
Orange Elementary School is an awesome place to learn! Our Orange Family consists of 450 terrific students, very supportive parents, and an extremely dedicated staff eager to facilitate and drive student achievement. Student achievement goals focus on literacy (to include writing), math, and science. School climate and safety are promoted through the beliefs and values of the Six Pillars of Character (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship) and the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) initiative to celebrate successes in which student expectations for behavior are clearly defined.
Other support systems guiding the children and staff in striving for high expectations include the strong involvement and leadership of the Orange Parent Association and our Partners in Education. Orange is very fortunate and proud to work with our caring community Partners: South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, Harmony House, Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, Mediacom, Hawkeye Community College, the University of Northern Iowa KDP (Kappa Delta Pi) Honor Society, and Liberty Bank.
Orange School is proud to be a “community of learners!”
