Message From the Principal
At Poyner Elementary School, our school community is dedicated to our vision – Engaged in Learning, Striving for Excellence, Prepared for Success. Our mission at Poyner is to ensure that every student reaches a high level of academic achievement as determined by district and state standards. We commit to a comprehensive system of support to ensure this outcome. We have implemented the Instructional Decision Making Model and provide extra support to our students who are not proficient on determined objectives.
Our staff and students have built a caring community. A positive learning environment has been created through the use of the pillars of character and the Positive Behavior Supports initiative. We are focusing on the pillars of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring. Our school is a warm, inviting, fun place where families are welcomed, honored, and feel connected. We are a community where families and staff have a true partnership in providing a safe, positive, caring climate for learning. This trusting partnership is the key to ensuring academic success for every Poyner student. We have a strong commitment to making sure our students are successful in school, because we believe that Kids Matter Most!
