 Poyner Teacher Testimonials:

“I’ve seen overall that this curriculum fits students will all different needs.  The students who are consistently low achieving tend to understand better because everything is hands on!  The students who are consistently high achieving are challenged by having to clearly explain their work and being able to solve problems in multiple ways!  It’s hard to show this to parents sometimes because there is so much that goes into the student’s work before they ever write anything down.  There is so much questioning that goes on while the students are working and modeling that cannot be caputred on paper.”    – Poyner First Grade Teacher

PBIS Lunch

One of our January PBIS prizes was eating lunch with Mrs. Bass and Mrs. Manternach.  We had so many second graders choose this prize we had to find a bigger location!  Way to go Panthers!!

4th & 5th Grade Literacy Night

Thank you to all our 4th and 5th grade students and their families for joining us for Literacy Night!   4th and 5th grade teachers prepared sessions for our student to share what they have learned about Fluency and Comprehension.  There was also a session about PBIS and school expectations.  Each family left with a gift and each student was able to choose a book to take home.   Below are some photos from the evening.   Thank you for spending the evening with us!

Relay for Life

Dear Poyner Panther Families,

We have all been affected by cancer; family, friends, co-workers.  Poyner has decided to start a Relay for Life team, Poyner Panthers Pouncing Out Cancer”.  We believe this worthy cause will help students see the true gift of giving from the heart.  We will be raising money for Relay for Life by doing some fun activities, so keep looking for information in the months to come.

To kick off our efforts we will begin “Coins for Cancer”.  Students can bring in loose change and put it in the jugs located throughout the building.  This fundraiser will continue until the end of the year.  Our goal is to raise as much money as we can!

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Relay for Life Team
