University of Northern Iowa
Be sure to go to http://www.uni.edu/ to complete the UNI common scholarship applications for all university scholarships. Do this even if you’ve not submitted your application. Some of the scholarships are as follows:
Presidential: Must have ACT score of 29 or higher and be in top 10% high school rank or a cumulative RAI of 335 or higher.
Alderman Scholarship: For students who have faced difficulties or challenges in life and worked to overcome them. No minimum grade point average requirement.
Awards: Ten scholarships of up to $5000 a year.
College of Humanities, Arts, and Science Dean’s Scholarship: Go to www.uni.edu/chas/students/scholarships for details.
Award: $6,000 per year
University of Iowa

Iowa Scholars Award: for first-year students who are Iowa residents with an ACT composite score of 27 or above (or a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1210 or above) and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.80 or above on a 4.00 scale. Students with an ACT of 30 or above (or a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1330 or above) and a high school GPA of 3.70 or above on a 4.00 scale also are eligible. Students are considered automatically upon admission for this one-time, $1,000 award. See U of I website for applications.
Students majoring in engineering who meet the same criteria will also be awarded the one-time, $1,000 Engineering@Iowa Scholars Award.
Iowa State University
The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication: Awards more than $100,000 in scholarships annually. See info in Student Services.
Hawkeye Community College
The Scholarship application is available for several different scholarships. Many are based on cumulative GPA, credits carried and financial needs. Ashford University (Clinton, Iowa):
