Iowa HOBY is a leading international leadership program for high school sophomores that is packed with fun, innovative leadership activities. The purpose of the seminar is to prepare our country's high school sophomores to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, schools, workplace and community. Each state has a HOBY seminar and last year 200 sophomores selected from Iowa's public and private high schools from across the stated attended Iowa HOBY. Just a reminder that the 2016-2017 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now available! Some colleges require this to be completed right away after Jan 1st (ex: Iowa State or the University of Iowa). So, you must complete your estimated financial aid RIGHT AWAY! West High Culinary Arts Team
Waterloo West High School is proud to announce that our West High Culinary Arts Team captured first
place (State Championship) at the ProStart Culinary Arts State competition yesterday. The team is made
up of the following students: Cailey Hall, Rayven Smith, Alex Potts, Kaylie Mohorne, and Emily
Reinertson. They will now participate in the National ProStart Competition in Dallas, Texas on April 29
through May 1, 2016. The team is coached by Ms. Tracy Hulme. West High proudly congratulates Ms.
Hulme and our State Champion Culinary Arts Team.
