Good morning these are your Announcements for Thursday February 16
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will have it’s 5th annual walk on Saturday, February 18th at Crossroads Mall. Registration begins at 7:30 and the walk will begin at 9:00AM. “Wahawks Walk to Cure” T-Shirts will be sold for $10 each during lunch through Friday.
The Trapshooting meeting will be Monday February 20, at 6:30 pm at Izaak Walton Waterloo Chapter in Washburn. The address is 5519 East Washburn Road. A parent or guardian must attend with a student. If you cannot attend this meeting, contact Coach Marcus Pratt at 215-2338.
Students who received the invitation from Student Services to come to a meeting today at 12:50 p.m. should be sure to clear their absence with their 6th hour teacher. The meeting is in the Team Player Room. See you there.
Congratulations to the Girls Bowling team. They finished their season with an undefeated record. They have their State Qualifying Meet today, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Lanes.
Boy’s track started Monday. Track is a sport that helps all other sports in overall athlete development. All boy’s interested in participating in track and field, and are not currently participating in a winter sport, should come to the player meeting room after school at 3:00 to talk to the coaches. All interested student athletes are welcome. Hope to see you soon.
Congratulations to the West High Bowling Teams. Both the boys and girls teams capped off their seasons with impressive victories over Iowa City West. The boys won by 256 pins and were led by Michael Bracken and Michael Greve. The girls beat Iowa City West by 649 pins. They girls were led by Makenzie Ruddy’s 451 series. They finished the regular season 11 and 0. They are the Metro Champs for the fifth straight year, the Divisional Champs for the second straight year and they are the current Conference Champs.
