News & More
Student accounts
Updated 8/12!
A reminder that all students in grades 6-12 have a network account to log-on to district computers, as well as an email account and an Infinite Campus portal account.
Computer/network accounts
- Students should always use their own network account when logging onto district computers. Never give students, or anyone else, your password.
- Student account usernames are their ID numbers.
- Student passwords have all been reset to their first and last initials in lowercase letters (John Smith’s would be js). <Carver staff, I realize this is old news to you…they have NOT been reset again since you started>.
- Upon logging on the first time, they will be forced to change their password. They need to put in a password at least 6 characters long, or it will not work for their email account.
- We did not wipe out student files that were in their directories from last year. This was based on requests we had from a number of teachers to allow students to build a portfolio of their work throughout their WCSD career.
Email accounts
- For more information on student email accounts, visit the following URL: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=79ccd679f4f87549&resid=79CCD679F4F87549!166&parid=79CCD679F4F87549!101&authkey=!ANX_gFOgvSan3-w
Infinite Campus portal accounts
- The Infinite Campus portal allows students to track their progress and information just as parents can.
- Usernames are their ID numbers.
- If they have never logged onto the portal before, their password starts as <first name initial><last name initial><birthdate MMDDYY>
- John Smith with a birthday of June 24, 1995 would have a password of js062495
- If they have logged onto the portal before, they had the option of changing their password, though they are not forced to.
Contact the helpdesk at https://helpdesk.waterloo.k12.ia.us or ext. 10158 with questions. Password resets are done through the helpdesk.
